Cross-country skiing: Sweden imperious on the sprint team
Second in qualifying earlier in the day, Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist produced a perfect final to claim gold in the classic team sprint at the Trondheim World Championships (Norway).
The Swedes confirmed their position as favourites to win a fourth consecutive world title in the discipline. This pair, Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist, won the 2021 world cross-country skiing championships inOberstdorf (Germany).
After a race from start to finish, with a great Jonna Sundling extending her lead in each relay, the Swedes beat the Americans Jessie Diggins and Julia Kern.

At the end of a crazy final straight, the Swiss, Anja Weber and Nadine Faehndrich, took the bronze medal, beating the Finns.

The French team – made up of Mélissa Gal and Léna Quintin – took ninth place. This is the best result for a French team on the Worlds sprint team since sixth place in Falun (Sweden) in 2015.
