Cross-country skiing : Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo still not sharing in the sprints
This Friday in Val di Fiemme (Italy), Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo continued to establish his domination of the world sprint. Winner of his twelfth consecutive cross-country skiing world cup sprint, the Norwegian did not hesitate to complete the double on the Tour de Ski after his success in the skate sprint in Toblach (Italy) a few days ago.

As clever as ever at positioning himself in the best possible way as the metres went by, the current leader of the overall tour rankings didn’t waver as he made his way through the final stages one lap at a time, before treating himself to another recital in the final to claim his fifty-fourth career sprint victory.
Behind him, Federico Pellegrino thought for a long time that he had done what was necessary to climb onto his forty-sixth individual podium. Leading the final at the start of the final straight, the Italian lost all his lucidity when he changed track at the very last moment. It was a fatal decision, as the Transalpine was quickly overtaken by his rivals.

Even Northug made the most of his mistake to take second place behind his untouchable compatriot. A few tenths behind him, Marcus Grate also made his mark in the final hectometres to claim his first individual top 3 in his career at the age of 28.

Federico Pellegrino finally settled for a frustrating fourth place, while Norway’s Haavard Moseby finished fifth ahead of Switzerland’s Janik Riebli, who wore the silver bib by proxy on Friday.
On the French side, Richard Jouve had qualified for the finals, but in the end did not line up at the start after injuring his back in the qualifying round.
