Cross-country skiing: the TNE Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite was in Font-Romeu
Over the last two weeks, the cross-country skiers in the Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite have been training in Font-Romeu (Pyrénées-Orientales). The course was run in conjunction with the Massif jurassien regional ski committee.
“The weather was great. We’re making good progress,” Maxime Grenard, the team’s coach, told Nordic Magazine. This was the first course where we had the full team, including Julien Arnaud, Sabin Coupat, Luc Primet and Stevenson Savart, as well as Boris Berglez, back from injury, and Suzette Christin, who is still recovering from the pain associated with her participation in L’Echappée Belle. With everyone there, we’ve been able to create a sense of competition during the sessions.

The programme was varied, with long sessions in the Pyrenean passes, a day of double thresholds (one in the morning, a second at the end of the afternoon), a speed tournament, weight training (Julien Arnaud lifted 105kg in the bench press) and board games (such as La Princesse) in the evening.

“This weekend we’re going to the French championships in Autrans where everyone will be racing, except Claire Moyse who can’t do too much pushing because of her elbow. She’ll be working at home instead,” says Maxime Grenard. Our ambition will be to give it our all and do the best we can.

Then, from 18 to 24 October, the TNE Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite will meet up in the Vercors for a final course on ski-wheels. In November, they will head off to the snowfarm in Davos (Switzerland) and then to Bessans (Savoie).
