Cross-country skiing: Jules Lapierre still searching for his best sensations
After leaving the Tour de Ski ill, Jules Lapierre made his return to competition in the individual skate race of the World Cup in Les Rousses (Jura) on Friday. It was a successful return for the 29-year-old cross-country skier, who finished tenth in the event won by Norway’s Iver Tildheim Andersen.

“I was fine on the first lap, but it was harder after that. It was difficult to get any gas in the last two loops. I’m back in good shape. We all got a bit sick. It’s the first race after the Tour de Ski, so you have to get your bearings again,” he told Nordic Magazine in the mixed zone.
“It’s one of the best World Cup races”.
However, the Chartrousin native was able to take advantage of a crowd that supported the French cause to perform and find the necessary resources to excel: “There’s a great atmosphere. We’re getting our ears broken, and that’s a pleasure. It’s a real success, both in terms of the spectators and the organisation. It’s one of the best World Cup events ,” he admits.

After 2023 with Delphine Claudel ‘s podium and Richard Jouve‘s victory, Jules Lapierre is optimistic about the rest of the French weekend: “ Victor [Lovera] put in a superb performance today. Tomorrow, there’s a great team of sprinters, so I think there could be some great things ahead,” he concludes.
