Cross-country skiing: seventeen Swedes at the Davos World Cup
On Tuesday, theSwedish Ski Association announced its selection for the cross-country skiing World Cup in Davos (Switzerland), scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday in the canton of Grisons.
As expected after the Ruka (Finland)/Trondheim (Norway) series, several stars from the national team will not be taking part. They are Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson, William Poromaa and Alvar Myhlback, who will start the first weekend of the Ski Classics with the Lager 157 Ski Team.
“As expected, some athletes who have already qualified for the Olympics are choosing to skip Davos. It was part of their planning not to go up to altitude now, in order to benefit from a good training period before the Tour de Ski,” reveals Anders Bystroem, manager of the national team, in the federal communication. The weekend’s competitions will obviously have added tension as there are Olympic selections at stake, and the Swedish Olympic Committee will be announcing the places for the Olympics next week.”
