At this winter’ s U23 cross-country skiing world championships in Schilpario (Italy), Australia’s Rosie Fordham achieved a remarkable feat by winning the silver medal in the 10km individual skate race. Run in snowy conditions, the race gave the Oceanian her country’s first podium finish at a world event.
During the week, Rosie Fordham was presented with the award for Australian Snowboarder of the Year. She has also been nominated for the Snow Australia Athlete of the Year award.

On the men’s side, Lars Young Vik, thirty-third in the sprint qualifier at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), was elected.
