A weekend in Madrid with the CNOSF for Joséphine Pagnier and Léna Brocard
From Friday to Sunday, Doubs ski jumper Joséphine Pagnier and Dauphiné Nordic combined skier Léna Brocard had a new experience. The two French team athletes took part in the ninth Blue Weekend organised by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF).
Organised in Madrid (Spain), it brought together around forty athletes. Alongside the two Nordic athletes were Antoine Adelisse (freestyle skiing), Boladé Apithy (fencing), Brahim Asloum (boxing), Thomas Boudat (track cycling), Héléna Ciak (basketball), Romane Dicko (judo), Christophe Lemaître (athletics), Manon Houette (handball), Stephen Parez (rugby 7s), Marie Patouillet (para-cycling) and Ronny Turiaf (basketball).

It was very much a family affair, with a lot of sharing,” Joséphine Pagnier tells Nordic Magazine. We only met exceptional people. Yes, they’re stars, but above all they’re people like us. Just because they have medals or three more lines on their prize list than we do doesn’t change anything about the people behind them.
A visit to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on the programme
On the programme for this Blue Weekend, the French troupe visited the city of Madrid and the Santiago-Bernabeu stadium, took part in a padel and yoga activity and then visited the Olympic Channel studios, where there is also a museum. All activities conducive to sharing experiences.

We do different sports, but in the end we’re all doing the same thing, and that gives us a chance to talk things over,” says Vertacomicorian Léna Brocard. We felt very welcome! What’s more, this kind of event is open to everyone. For next year or another Blue Weekend in the year, I’d encourage other sportspeople to come forward so that we can continue to mix summer and winter disciplines.
