A few days after the gundersen event at the Austrian Nordic Combined Summer Championships in Eisenerz (Austria), a mass start awaited the country’s top specialists. In Bischofshofen (Austria), Stefan Rettenegger got off to the best possible start by winning the wheel-ski race.
However, with a jump of 121.5 metres, he dropped back to seventh place after the ski jumping competition. It was his brother Thomas Rettenegger (131.5 metres), who was imperious on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze, who took gold ahead of Martin Fritz (125.5 metres) and Lukas Greiderer (129.5 metres).
Franz-Josef Rehrl, fourth in the rankings, had an impressive flight of 138 metres, and Johannes Lamparter, fifth after the mass start, was forced to withdraw from the jumping competition.
