Nordic combined: unsurprising victory for Nathalie Armbruster in Chaux-Neuve, two Frenchwomen in the top ten
Germany’s Nathalie Armbruster was the firm favourite in the women’s gundersen at the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Chaux-Neuve (Doubs). Third at the start of the 5km ski-wheel pursuit, just a few seconds behind Finland’s Minja Korhonen, she quickly caught up with her rival before dropping her to fly to victory.

Three days after her first success on home soil in Oberstdorf (Germany), the winner of the last Crystal Globe now has her second victory in a row on this summer’s tour.

Minja Korhonen took second place at 15.2 seconds, while Slovenia’s Ema Volavsek, ninth at the start, took a fine third place at 29.0 seconds, just ahead of the returning Tara Geraghty-Moats, who once again surprised everyone by finishing fourth.

Jenny Nowak, Teja Pavec and Trine Goepfert followed in the rankings, while Romane Baud, eighth, and Léna Brocard, ninth, finished the race in a top 10 rounded off by Maria Gerboth.

Marion Droz-Vincent was twelfth, while Anaëlle Paris was sixteenth and last.
