Nordic Combined : the French to the fore in the Continental Cup
On Saturday morning in Klingenthal (Germany), windy conditions prevented the gundersen jumping competition from taking place. As a result, the racers left with the reserve jumps from Friday’s stage of the Nordic Combined Continental Cup.

However, the large gaps at the start left little doubt as to the outcome of the 10-kilometre cross-country ski pursuit. Norway’s Espen Bjoernstad, who started with a fifty-second lead over his runner-up, went it alone to win solo. Behind the native of Trondheim (Norway) was a very good Mattéo Baud, second at twenty seconds. Germany’s Jakob Lange completed the day’s top 3.

Behind a returning Mattéo Baud, Laurent Muhlethaler finished just four hundredths off the podium. Marco Heinis, who started third, lost ground and finished seventh. Gaël Blondeau and Edgar Vallet were eleventh and twentieth respectively.
