The Austrian women’s Nordic combined team has a new head coach. This Tuesday morning, Ski Austria – through a decision by Florian Liegl, head of the Austrian combined and special jumps – made official the appointment of Florian Schabereiter as head coach of the women’s national team.
“I’m delighted and honoured to be taking on the role of head coach of the women’s team. I come from a ski jumping background, but I also have solid experience in Nordic combined, gained as a sports scientist and through my youth. I’m lucky enough to be able to join a very competent team. I’m delighted to be part of it,” Florian Schabereiter told Ski Austria.

The 34-year-old was a ski jumper before working for two years as a technician for the national team. From 2013 to 2019, he was assistant coach of the men’s and women’s national ski jumping teams.
He succeeds Willem Denifl, who resigned after the final weekend of competition in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway).
