This Friday, the combined events had a date with the penultimate Gundersen of the season, at the World Cup in Lahti (Finland). Following the cancellation of the jumping competition in the morning, the reserve jump was used. Held in bright sunshine, it was Austrian Johannes Lamparter who came out on top after the 10km cross-country skiing.
Starting in second place, he quickly caught up with Germany’s Julian Schmid. Impressive in the moguls, the 23-year-old took off in the third lap to claim his second win of the season.
He finished ahead of Finland’s Ilkka Herola –in fine form at the end of the season with his first World Cup victory last week in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway) – and Germany’s Julian Schmid, who started in first place.

In the French camp, Laurent Muhlethaler was 26th at 2 min 32 sec, Maël Tyrode 37th at 3 min 22 sec. Marco Heinis, who started fourth, fell to 39th place at 3 min 35 sec.
Gaël Blondeau finished 42nd at 4 min 11 sec. Edgard Vallet was 45th at 4 min 44 sec and Tom Rochat was 47th at 4 min 56 sec.
