The 2024/2025 edition of the Nordic combined world cup drew to a close on Saturday with the men’s gundersen contested on the ski jump and slopes of Lahti, Finland. And Laurent Muhlethaler shone particularly brightly in this final competition.

With a tremendous jump of 128.5 metres, the Frenchman came second in the competition. This XXL performance means that he can look forward to a place on the podium in the cross-country ski pursuit scheduled for the afternoon. Ahead of him, Johannes Lamparter will start with a 13-second margin after crushing the competition with a jump of 134.5 metres. Germany’s Terence Weber (126 metres) rounded off the top 3.

Among the other French competitors, Marco Heinis also excelled , finishing fifth after reaching 127 metres. Maël Tyrode (107 metres) finished 46th, Gaël Blondeau (106 metres) 47th, Edgar Vallet (103 metres) 49th and Tom Rochat (98 metres) 55th.
