Nordic combined: the 2025 Summer Grand Prix is over

After the first two rounds in Oberstdorf (Germany) and Chaux-Neuve (Doubs) at the end of August, the 2025 Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix came to an end last week in Val di Fiemme (Italy).

In the general standings, where only athletes who have competed in all the races are ranked, there was some suspense among the men… and Laurent Muhlethaler came very close to retaining the title he won in 2024. In the end, with 176 points amassed, he came within 6 points of Germany’s Johannes Rydzek, crowned with 182 points.

His compatriot Richard Stenzel (152) was third, while Marco Heinis (115) was fifth, Maël Tyrode (66) tenth, Mattéo Baud (60) eleventh, Gaël Blondeau (57) thirteenth and Edgar Vallet (52) fifteenth.

In the women’s category, Germany’s Nathalie Armbruster (270), with two wins from three races, dominates the overall standings ahead of Finland’s Minja Korhonen (245) and Slovenia’s Ema Volavsek (225). A fine fifth place for Romane Baud (113) from Doubt.

The latter, incidentally, wore the blue bib of the best jumper in Italy… where she lost it. It was Finland’s Minja Korhonen (230) who took the trophy ahead of Nathalie Armbruster (196) and the Frenchwoman (193).

On the men’s side, Austrian Florian Kolb (184) won, just ahead of Jiri Konvalinka (182), while Marco Heinis (173) was fifth.

The trophy for the best cross-country skiers went to Italy’s Samuel Costa (230), ahead of Vid Vrhovnik (198), and Slovenia’s Ema Volavsek (300), ahead of Nathalie Armbruster (260).

Finally, Germany won the Nations Cup in both the men’s (1,354) and women’s (932) categories. France came third for the men (786) and fifth for the women (369).
