Nordic combined: Marte Leinan Lund and Kasper Moen Flatla win on home soil on the Lillehammer gundersen
Having missed out on the Olympic Games because there were no women’s Nordic combined events, Léna Brocard took advantage of the World Cup break to bounce back in the Continental Cup. The day after finishing fifth in the gundersen in Lillehammer (Norway), she finished fourth in the same format on Sunday.
In the sprint, she dominated Austrian Katharina Gruber (5th), another World Cup defector. Her best result since the World Cup gundersen in Schonach (Germany) in January 2024 (4th). Her compatriot Romane Baud finished 14th and Marion Droz-Vincent was disqualified after the jump.

As on the previous day, the women’s race was dominated by the world’s best. Norway’s Marte Leinan Lund (7th in the world) dominated Slovenia’s Ema Volavsek (8th). Katharina Gruber (6th) finished in the top 5. However, American Alexa Brabec (2nd) did not take part in the day’s event, and Norway’s Ida Marie Hagen (1st) had to make do with the jumping competition, where she finished 6th.

In the lower-level men’s race, the final ranking followed that of the jump. Norway’s Kasper Moen Flatla dominated Italy’s Iacopo Bortolas (2nd) and Austria’s Florian Kolb (3rd). The first Frenchman, Martin Lubin, grabbed a top 20 finish after moving up thirteen places (17th). Edgar Vallet finished 27th and Tom Rochat 32nd. The continental cup will be shortened by three final races following the cancellation of the final stage in Lahti, announced at the weekend.
