Ida Marie Hagen is already the strongest. Although she started the cross-country ski pursuit in the first gundersen of the 2024/2025 World Cup 34 seconds behind the winner, the outgoing winner of the crystal globe produced a masterful race.
By the end of the first of the two 2.5km laps, she was 10.7 seconds ahead of her closest chaser. Finally, at the end of the race, the Norwegian won by 49 sec 0 ahead of her compatriot Gyda Westvold Hansen and 55 sec 6 ahead of Austrian Lisa Hirner.
Léna Brocard from Austria, nineteenth at the start, put in a fine cross-country race to start her winter in fourteenth place. Germany’s Maria Gerboth, in the lead at the start of the pursuit, finished fifth behind Haruka Kasai and ahead of Nathalie Armbruster.
