Early on Sunday afternoon, the cross-country ski pursuit in the individual nordic combined World Cup in Lillehammer (Norway) put on a magnificent show.
On a magnificent track, and at the end of the 7.5km race, it was a sprint for victory between the Germans Vinzenz Geiger and Julian Schmid and the Norwegian yellow number Jarl Magnus Riiber. Not fast enough, the latter stopped his effort in the final straight to let Geiger win by a whisker ahead of Schmid.
Overall, it was a difficult race for the French: Edgar Vallet, in thirtieth place, recorded the best result. Laurent Muhlethaler was thirty-fifth, Mattéo Baud thirty-seventh and Marco Heinis fortieth.
