Norway’s Mari Leinan Lund had a great 2023/2024 season, with two victories and ten podium finishes, but suffered a knee injury at the end of the season that prevented her from taking part in the 2024/2025 winter season. This injury prevented her from taking part in the 2024/2025 winter season. On Tuesday, at the Norwegian national team selection ceremony, the 25-year-old revealed that she had undergone a new operation that would mean a six-month rehabilitation period.
I hope there will be less debris to clean up and that the process will be shorter,” explains Mari Leinan Lund to NTB and quoted in NRK. I’m going to take my time this time, approach the rehabilitation with a slightly different attitude and open up my horizons a bit more. Last time, I had severe tunnel vision and did nothing but stay on my knee all year,” she explains.
Mari Leinan Lund still retains a place in Norway’s elite squad for winter 2025/2026.
