In less than a month, the Nordic combined world championships will kick off on the jumps and slopes of Trondheim, Norway. From 27 February, the women will be competing in the mass start, the first event in which medals will be awarded.

On Monday, the Norwegian team revealed the names of the nine athletes who will be representing their country on home soil. In the women’s event, world number one Ida Marie Hagen will be there alongside Gyda Westvold Hansen, Marte Leinan Lund and Ingrid Laate.

On the men’s side, Jarl Magnus Riiber will also be taking part. It promises to be an emotional occasion, as the Scandinavian will be taking part in his last World Championships before retiring from the sport at the end of the winter. Alongside him will be Jens Luraas Oftebro, Joergen Graabak, Andreas Skoglund and Simen Tiller.
