12:23. On the demanding world cup circuit in Oberhof (Germany), American Alexa Brabec held on for two kilometres. The American started in the lead, but was then caught by the undisputed overall leader Ida Marie Hagen. The Norwegian then overtook her on the hilly track, before breaking away at the front, stabilising her lead and then taking an unsurprising victory.
His 7th win of the season in eight races. “It was a tough race, but it was great to do it in front of such a big crowd. I tried to ski as fast as I could in front of my parents in the stands,” she commented.

She was 8 seconds ahead of Germany’s Nathalie Armbruster, who took her 5th podium of the season in front of her home crowd. After a fine finish, Finland’s Minja Korhonen snatched third place by 15 seconds. Alexa Brabec finally failed to finish in fourth place after losing out on the final climb (+22 seconds).

At the end of yet another crazy comeback, American Tara Geraghty-Moats took 8th place (+58 sec), after starting 26th. That’s better than Norway’s red bib Marte Leinan Lund, 9th (+1 min 01) after starting 22nd. In a format that was unfavourable to her, Ingrid Laate finished 24th at 1 min 54 despite having bib number 2.

Frenchwoman Léna Brocard, who started 6th, exploded halfway through the race. She let go of the skis of a group of chasers and then steadily dropped back in the rankings. 13th after 3.3 km, she then put her foot down on the final lap. After a discussion with the staff, she did not finish the race. Romane Baud was no miracle worker. 18th at the start, she finished 26th at 2 min 30.
