The Nordic Combined World Cup inOslo-Holmenkollen (Norway) came to a close on Sunday afternoon with the women’s individual compact cross-country race. And as on the previous day, it was once again Gyda Westvold Hansen who came out on top in the last race of the winter.

Helped by the withdrawal of her compatriot Ingrid Laate, winner of the morning jumping competition, the Norwegian mastered her subject to cruise to victory at the end of the 5 kilometre race. The Scandinavian also finished well ahead of her team-mate Ida Marie Hagen, who fell back to 6 seconds behind at one point in the race. Japan’s Haruka Kasai completed the podium.

Twentieth after a difficult springboard passage, Léna Brocard made a fine comeback. On the line, the Frenchwoman climbed to a good eleventh place, less than 10 seconds behind the top 10 and the tenth position held by Austrian Claudia Purker.
