A few minutes after the women’s individual compact jump, the men also took to the track in this same format of the Nordic Combined World Cup inOslo-Holmenkollen (Norway). And it was a spectacular competition that the local public was able to witness.

With a jump of 146 metres, Ilkka Herola crushed the competition. The Finn even set the springboard record by nearly two metres. He will therefore logically start in the lead ahead of Austrians Franz-Josef Rehrl (136 metres) and Johannes Lamparter (119 metres).

Just 5 seconds off the podium, Laurent Muhlethaler (129 metres) also put in a superb performance. In fourth place, the Frenchman can look forward to the cross-country race in the afternoon. His compatriot Marco Heinis (121.5 metres) made it into the top 20 in nineteenth place. Circuit leader Jarl Magnus Riiber missed out with a jump of 110.5 metres, which meant he could only aim for 21st place. Gaël Blondeau (108.5 metres) finished 35th, while Tom Rochat (102.5 metres) was 41st.
