Friday saw the first event of the weekend at the Nordic Combined World Cup in Otepää (Estonia). At the start of the afternoon, it was the women who got things underway with the 5km cross-country mass-start.
Back in competition after her disqualification from the Triple in Seefeld (Austria), Ida Marie Hagen dominated the race. Offensive from the outset, the Norwegian quickly took the lead and never relinquished it. She won 16.8 seconds ahead of overall leader Nathalie Armbruster and 17.3 seconds ahead of Japan’s Haruka Kasai.

Léna Brocard from Isère, who was in contact with the chasing pack for a long time, finished eighth at 27.8 seconds. The ski jumping event at the end of the afternoon ended with time gaps converted into points.
