Nordic combined: Ida Marie Hagen returns to success
Ida Marie Hagen has her revenge. Disqualified for a substandard combination last weekend in Seefeld (Austria) and the victim of a fall on Friday in the mass-start jumping competition in Otepää (Estonia), the Norwegian is back to the joys of victory this Saturday in the gundersen.
Starting in fourth position, the Scandinavian quickly closed the gap on the winner of the morning jumping competition, Haruka Kasai. Halfway through the race, she launched a last-ditch attack to pull 15.6 seconds clear of the Japanese second-place finisher. The leader of the overall World Cup ranking, Nathalie Armbruster, took third place at 50.6 seconds.

Austria’s Claudia Purker, who was in contention for the final podium for a long time, finished fifth behind Yuna Kasai. This was her best career result. France’s Léna Brocard moved up one place from the jumping competition to finish in seventh place, 1 min 33 sec 3 behind the leader.
