Nordic combined: Nathalie Armbruster wins the sprint
In Sunday’s Nordic Combined World Cup individual compact in Otepää (Estonia), Nathalie Armbruster confirmed that the yellow jersey is not on her shoulders for nothing. The German put in a superb performance in the cross-country ski pursuit to claim a prestigious sprint victory ahead of Ida Marie Hagen.

She was in contact with the Scandinavian, who won the gundersen on Saturday, until the final straight, when she put in a crazy finish to win the race. Having started fifth, 22 seconds behind Maria Gerboth, the Norwegian had to make up for her efforts at the start of the race. Thanks to this success, the 19-year-old has extended her lead in the race for the crystal globe.

The two young women were joined on the podium by Japan’s Haruka Kasai, in third place. France’s Léna Brocard, twelfth after the jump, moved up four places to eighth.
