Two weeks after kicking off their season in Lillehammer (Norway), the women’s Nordic Combined World Cup athletes set off for Ramsau, Austria, to compete one last time in 2024 before the festive season.

The day’s programme included a cross-country mass-start followed by a jumping competition later in the afternoon. World number one Ida Marie Hagen did not waver in this skiing event. The Norwegian broke away quite early on the 5-kilometre course, but saw her compatriot Gyda Westvold Hansen come back strongly at the end of the race. Second at less than 9 seconds, the Scandinavian will have a great chance to win on the springboard.

Starting slower than her team-mates, Marte Leinan Lund pulled out all the stops in the second half of the course to claw back some places and finish on the podium just over 40 seconds from victory. Frenchwoman Léna Brocard also showed her class by finishing seventh in a group that was in the top five right to the end.
