Never bury Jarl Magnus Riiber. After finishing the cross-country mass-start 23 seconds behind, the Norwegian still managed to win the first event of the weekend at the Nordic combined world cup in Ramsau (Austria).

The Scandinavian jumped 96 metres to beat his young compatriot Jens Luraas Oftebro (93 metres), who had won on the boards a few hours earlier. Estonia’s Kristjan Ilves (92 metres) rounded off the top 3.

For France, Marco Heinis put in the best performance of the day. The Doubiste native finished twenty-fourth after a 92-metre jump. Laurent Muhlethaler (88 metres) came thirtieth, Gaël Blondeau thirty-sixth (83.5 metres), Edgar Vallet (81.5 metres) thirty-eighth and Tom Rochat (81 metres) fiftieth.
