Nordic combined: first victory of the season for Johannes Lamparter in Shonach
Johannes Lamparter finally won his first Nordic Combined World Cup race of the season. In the cross-country ski pursuit of the individual compact, the Austrian dominated the overall World Cup leader, Jarl Magnus Riiber, who had won the jump earlier in the day.
The Tyrolean’s acceleration on the final climb proved fatal for the Norwegian. Nevertheless, the Scandinavian seemed happy at the finish line, after his disappointment on Saturday’s gundersen where he had a breakdown at the end of the race.

Germany’s Vinzenz Geiger, who climbed fourteen places, was third. He took advantage of the failure of Jens Luraas Oftebro, who won the gundersen on Saturday, to take his sixth World Cup podium on home soil. Laurent Muhlethaler was the best Frenchman, in nineteenth place.
The other Tricolores, who struggled in the jumping competition, came back well: Gaël Bondleau was twenty-sixth, Edgar Vallet thirty-first, Mattéo Baud thirty-third and Marco Heinis forty-first.
