Nordic Combined: the Triple for Nathalie Armbruster
There was no suspense this Sunday afternoon in the cross-country ski pursuit at the women’s gundersen in Seefeld (Austria). Nathalie Armbruster from Germany started alone in the lead and went on to win the 7.5 kilometre race.
With this second victory in Austria, the 19-year-old combined rider has achieved a triple coup. As well as her Sunday success, she also won the overall classification of the first ever Women’s Triple and took the yellow bib of leader of the overall World Cup classification.

Norway’s Gyda Westvold Hansen finished second at 1 min 24 ahead of Japan’s Haruka Kasai, third at 1 min 40 after catching American Alexa Brabec at the end of the race. Léna Brocard , who had been fighting for the podium for a long time, took sixth place. The first French women’s Nordic combined podium will have to wait.

The second French racer, Marion Droz-Vincent, finished in the top 20 in nineteenth place. Doubiste Romane Baud did not take part in the pursuit.
