Nordic combined: Vinzenz Geiger wins in a thriller
This Sunday afternoon, the men’s cross-country ski pursuit in the Triple gundersen in Seefeld (Austria) provided some great entertainment. Run over 12.5 km, the race was full of suspense and, at the end of the final straight, it was Germany’s Vinzenz Geiger who came out on top.
At the end of a Dantesque final lap, he finished ahead of world combined champion Jarl Magnus Riiber. Just behind them were Norway’s Jens Luuras Oftebro and Finland’s Ilkka Herola.

Vinzenz Geiger also won the overall classification of the Seefeld Triple, the first of his career. Laurent Muhlethaler finished as the best Frenchman in twenty-first place.

His French team-mates were all in the same group: Gaël Blondeau was twenty-eighth, Mattéo Baud twenty-ninth, Edgar Vallet thirty-third and Marco Heinis forty-second.
