Nordic combined: Finnish victory in Val di Fiemme
Leading the women’s gundersen at the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Val di Fiemme (Italy) after the jumping competition, Japan’s Yuna Kasai and Finland’s Minja Korhonen were unbeaten in the 5km wheel-ski pursuit.

Held early this afternoon in the sunshine of Ziano di Fiemme (Italy), the race offered a fairly straightforward scenario: a duo leading the way battling it out for victory. The stronger Minja Korhonen raised her arms 3 sec 3 ahead of her Asian rival. At 28 sec 2, it was her compatriot Heta Hirvonen who completed the podium.

Fourth at 29 sec 6, Germany’s Nathalie Armbruster made a fine comeback, but didn’t finish the race on the podium. However, she took comfort in winning the final overall classification of the Summer Grand Prix for the first time in her career.

For the French team, Doubiste Romane Baud lost five positions on the ski-wheels and finished fifteenth. Marion Droz-Vincent was twenty-fourth. LénaBrocard was disqualified after the jumping competition.
