15:30. President of the Swedish Ski Association since last autumn, Anders Furbeck announced some big news on Friday. Against all expectations, the Swede announced that he was stepping down from his position with immediate effect for personal reasons.
“Unfortunately, I have to announce that the heavy workload involved in the position of President of the Swedish Ski Association can no longer be combined with my private family situation and I have therefore chosen to step down from my position immediately,” he explained in a press release.
This is very bad news for the Scandinavian body on the eve of a crucial Olympic season. I’m really passionate about skiing, snowboarding and club life in all its forms, so it’s with a heavy heart that I’ve taken this decision,” adds Anders Furbeck. I’m now going to devote all my time and energy to what’s most important in my life, which is my family.
