14:09. On Sunday, Mathis Desloges won the first medal for the French delegation at the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, taking silver in the skiathlon. On the Tesero track in Val di Fiemme, the cross-country skier became the first Frenchman to win an individual medal in a cross-country skiing distance event at the Olympic Games.
Mathis Desloges, a native of Saint-Martin-d’Hères (Isère) in the Grenoble-Alpes Métropole region, was showered with congratulations after his achievement. These included congratulations from French President Emmanuel Macron and Grenoble Foot 38. The Isère-based Ligue 2 club, which he has supported for many years, was quick to praise the historic achievement of one of its fans.
