French Alps 2030: a new twist in the search for the chairman of the organising committee
At the start of the week, the story of the appointment of the President of the Organising Committee (COJOP ) for the 2030 French Alps Olympic and Paralympic Games was left to rumours that Amélie Oudéa-Castéra would be appointed to the post. According to RTL, the former Minister for Sport seemed to tick all the boxes.
However, this Friday morning in the columns of L’Equipe, she officially denied this, saying: “I have never been a candidate, I am not a candidate and I never will be.”

As a result, the race for the presidency of the COJOP is still open with several candidates. First of all, France’s number 1 sports daily confirms that the trail leading to Martin Fourcade – who would have liked to work with Marie Bochet – has cooled in recent weeks. As a result, two contenders remain: Marie Martinod, who is being pushed by Renaud Muselier, President of the Southern Region, and, above all, Vincent Jay.
Vincent Jay, a serious candidate
The former Olympic biathlon champion has had the advantage of working on the project since its inception on behalf of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. During the Paris 2024 Games, he was an observer at the COJOP headquarters in Pulse.

“If the organisers want me, I’ll take it on. I’m someone who can unite all the players, he tells L’Equipe. It’s often said that the Alpes 2030 bid is the fruit of the marriage between Laurent Wauquiez and Renaud Muselier. I’m not their son, but for the last year and a half I’ve been experiencing what I experienced in the French national team: team spirit, self-sacrifice and going beyond your limits.”
The name of the President of the COJOP for the French Alps 2030 should be chosen before the end of October, at a meeting scheduled to take place at Matignon.
