Para biathlon: third podium in three races for Anthony Chalençon
Although Morzine’s Anthony Chalençon (guided by Florian Michelon) didn’t win this week at the para biathlon world cup in Canmore (Canada), he did climb every podium possible.
Already in the top 3 in the sprint and sprint pursuit, he finished third in the individual race on Sunday.

He shot 18/20, 39 sec 1 behind the German winner Lennart Mattis Volkert (guided by Nils Kolb), at 19/20. Second place, at 18/20, went to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Kazik (guided by Serhii Kucheriavyi).
The women’s race was dominated by Germany’s Johanna Recktenwald (guided by Emily Rose Weiss) at 19/20 ahead of Czech Carina Edlinger (17/20) and her compatriot Leonie Maria Walter (guided by Christian Krasman), who scored 14/20.
The podium too for Karl Tabouret
Karl Tabouret from Beaufort was also on the podium. Fourth on Saturday in the sprint pursuit, the Beaufortain gained one place. With an 18/20 in the shooting, he takes third place, while Bornandin Benjamin Daviet (16/20), with three errors in the third pass on the mat, is fifth.

Just ahead, Canadian Mark Arendz (19/20) won ahead of Ukrainian Grygorii Vovchynskyi (19/20). The women’s race was won by Natalie Wilkie (20/20) ahead of Oleksandra Kononova (19/20) and Bohdana Konashuk (20/20).
Earlier in the day, Aaron Pike(20/20) won the men’s race, 28 seconds 4 seconds ahead of Canada’s Collin Cameron (19/20) and Ukraine’s Taras Rad (19/20), who was held back 1 minute 50 seconds 6 seconds.
On the women’s side, it was also an American, Kendall Gretsch (19/20), who won. South Korea’s Yunji Kim (16/20) and Germany’s Anja Wicker (16/20) completed the podium.
