Para biathlon: a day without a podium finish for Les Bleus at the Notschrei World Cup
After a one-day break, the Para Biathlon World Cup in Notschrei (Germany) was back in action on Saturday with the pursuit sprints. In this dynamic format and under snowy skies, Benjamin Daviet (10/10) took fifth place in the standing sprint, while Karl Tabouret (6/10) finished thirteenth.

Germany’s Marco Maier (8/10) won ahead of China’s Jiayun Cai (9/10) and Canada’s Mark Arendz (9/10).

On the women’s side, Yujie Guo (10/10) triumphed ahead of Natalie Wilkie (10/10) and Zhiqing Zhao (6/10), while France’s Cléo Blanc (7/10) finished sixth. Chloé Pinto did not make the qualifying cut.

In the visually impaired category, Anthony Chalençon (guided by Florian Michelon) was also fifth, with a score of 8/10. Up front, Shuang Yu (guided by Jincai Shang) won the race, beating Nico Messinger (guided by Robin Wunderle) and Lennart Mattis Volkert (guided by Florian Winker).

The women’s race was won by Yue Wang (guided by Guoming Chen) ahead of Johanna Recktenwald (guided by Emily Rose Weiss) and Simona Bubenickova (guided by David Srutek).

The men’s sitting race was the scene of a Chinese hat-trick, with Zixu Liu (10/10) winning ahead of Tao Wang (9/10) and Mengtao Liu (5/10).

American Oksana Masters (9/10) won the women’s event, ahead of Anja Wicker (10/10) and Yilin Shan (10/10).
