Para biathlon: Karl Tabouret and Benjamin Daviet at the Loop One Festival
At the Loop One Festival in Munich (Germany), in less than two weeks’ time, the elite races on Sunday 19 October will bring together the world’s best biathletes. But the day before, youth and para-biathlon competitions will bring the Bavarian Olympic Park to life.
Among the para biathletes at the start will be two Frenchmen competing in the standing category: Karl Tabouret, reigning world champion in the para cross-country skiing classic sprint, and Benjamin Daviet, five-time Paralympic gold medallist. They will be accompanied on site by their shooting coach Anaïs Bescond.

It’s going to be an intense week because we’ll be doing tests on skis and wheels as part of a course in the Vercors in the days before their departure,” Vincent Duchêne, their fitness coach, explains to Nordic Magazine. They’ll finish it all off with a race, which will serve as a benchmark against their rivals. It will give them an idea of where they stand, even if it’s on skis and wheels.

It’s also great exposure for para biathlon,” enthuses the Dauphiné coach. In any case, they’re going there to give their best, but it won’t be the objective of the season either. It will be good to see what level they are at at the moment and what they still need to improve between now and the start of the season.
After this German weekend, Les Bleus will be back in the snow at the beginning of November on the Bessans snowfarm (Savoie). Then, at the end of the month, they will head to Canmore (Canada) for the first tour of the 2025/2026 World Cup.
