Para biathlon: third podium in three races for Anthony Chalençon in Torsby
On Tuesday, the 2024/2025 Para Biathlon World Cup came to a close with the sprint pursuit in Torsby (Sweden). In this electric and energetic format, Anthony Chalençon (guided by Florian Michelon) claimed his third podium in three races contested on the Swedish facilities.
Third in the morning qualifying heat, he moved up one place in the final. At 8/10, the Morzinois was beaten only by Ukrainian Iaroslav Reshetynskyi (guided by Dmytro Drahun), who won at 9/10 for 25 sec 70. Oleksandr Kazik (guided by Serhii Kucheriavyi) was third.

The women’s final was dominated by the Germans, with Linn Kazmaier (guided by Florian Baumann) winning by 9/10 ahead of Leonie Maria Walter (guided by Robin Wunderle) and Johanna Recktenwald (guided by Emily Rose Weiss).
Karl Tabouret on the podium again, Benjamin Daviet sixth
Then, in the men’s standing final, it was Albertville’s Karl Tabouret who took the lead thanks to his qualifying time and his handicap percentage. Despite a 10/10, he was overtaken in the last lap by Canadian Mark Arendz (10/10), the winner, and Kazakh Alexandr Gerlits (8/10), second.

In third place, the Frenchman secured his last international podium this season. Germany’s Marco Maier (10/10) and Ukraine’s Grygorii Vovchynskyi (6/10) are next in the rankings, followed by Bornandin Benjamin Daviet (9/10) in sixth place.
In the women’s category, Ukraine’s Oleksandra Kononova, in the lead at the start, put in a demonstration performance with a 10/10 to win solo. Her compatriot Iryna Bui (10/10) and the surprising American Danielle Aravich (10/10) completed the podium.
