Para biathlon: another podium finish for Anthony Chalençon and Florian Michelon at the World Cup
This Sunday, the finals of the 2024/2025 Para Biathlon World Cup continued in Torsby (Sweden) with the individual events. In this format, in which every mistake carries a 45-second penalty, France’s Anthony Chalençon (guided by Florian Michelon) came third in the visually impaired category.

The day after his success in the sprint, he made a shooting error. He was beaten by the Ukrainians Anatolii Kovalevskyi (guided by Oleksandr Mukshyn), winner, and Iaroslav Reshetynskyi (guided by Dmytro Drahun), second.
The women’s individual was dominated by the Germans: at 19/20, Johanna Recktenwald (guided by Emily Rose Weiss) gained a few seconds ahead of Leonie Maria Walter (guided by Christian Krasman) and Linn Kazmaier (guided by Florian Baumann), both of whom scored 18/20.
Double podium finish in the standing category… with victory for Benjamin Daviet
A few minutes later, in the standing category, Bornandin Benjamin Daviet, with 20/20, was back on the road to World Cup victory.
Five-time Paralympic champion Karl Tabouret (19/20), who scored his first international podium in para biathlon, was more than a minute ahead of his compatriot. Canadian Mark Arendz (17/20) came third.

The women’s victory went to Canada’s Natalie Wilkie (20/20) ahead of Ukraine’s Liudmyla Liashenko (17/20) and Oleksandra Kononova (16/10). Ninth place went to France’s Chloé Pinto (15/20).
Yerbol Khamitov and Kendall Gretsch still ahead in the seated category
In the seated category, Kazakhstan’s Yerbol Khamitov (19/20) won the men’s race by a wide margin, beating Ukraine’s Vasyl Kravchuk (18/20) and South Korea’s Eui-Hyun Shin (18/20) by more than a minute.

In the women’s race, American Kendall Gretsch (20/20) also completed the sprint/individual double , beating Germany’s Anja Wicker (19/20) and South Korea’s Yunji Kim (19/20).
