Para cross-country skiing: second podium of the week for Karl Tabouret in Canmore
This Sunday, the Para-Cross-Country World Cup in Canmore (Canada) came to a close with the classic mass-starts. In the standing event, in a style he loves, Karl Tabouret from Beaufort once again shone.
Beaten only by Germany’s Sebastian Marburger, he went on to take second place, his second podium of the week. Canadian Mark Arendz is third.

In the women’s category, victory went to Norway’s Vilde Nilsen, who scored a hat-trick of victories in Alberta. Home-grown Natalie Wilkie and Ukraine’s Liudmyla Liashenko were also on the podium, while France’s Cléo Blanc was twelfth and Chloé Pinto thirteenth.

Earlier in the day, in the seated category, Alexis Sanchez from France took eleventh place, less than 10 seconds outside the top 10. Italian Giuseppe Romele won ahead of American Aaron Pike and Canadian Derek Zaplotinsky. On the women’s side, USA’s Oksana Masters dominated the race ahead of South Korea’s Yunji Kim and her compatriot Kendall Gretsch.
In the visually impaired category, France’s Maxime Gayet (guided by Alexis Bernard) took eleventh place in a race won by Sweden’s Zebastian Modin (guided by Emil Talsi). Germany’s Nico Messinger (guided by Robin Wunderle) and Ukraine’s Dmytro Suiarko (guided by Oleksandr Nikonovych) also finished on the podium.
On the women’s side, victory went to Germany’s Leonie Maria Walter (guided by Florian Winker) ahead of Canada’s Maddie Mullin (guided by Brooke Ailey) and Japan’s Kotoha Matsudo (guided by Yuji Shimada).
