Para cross-country skiing: a gold medal at the World Military Games for Benjamin Daviet, David Barnabé with a tan
On Tuesday, the cross-country skiing events at the Lucerne 2025 Military World Games opened with the individual events reserved for disabled athletes. On the slopes of Goms (Switzerland), in the 10km standing category, Benjamin Daviet took the opportunity to win a fine gold medal more than 2 minutes ahead of Italy’s Mattia Dal Plastro.

David Barnabé, another French soldier wounded in action, is tanned.

In the men’s 4km race, Italy’s Giuseppe Spatola was crowned champion, just a few seconds ahead of his compatriot Jacopo Maria Curzi. Italy even made it a hat-trick, with Marco Pisani taking bronze. In the French clan, Gilles Brahim was sixth and Thibault Vanicatte seventh.
