Para-cross-country skiing: first World Cup podium for Karl Tabouret
This Saturday, the classic sprint of the para-cross-country skiing world cup in Val di Fiemme (Italy) was on the programme at the site of the Milan/Cortina 2026 Paralympic Games. Karl Tabouret, who took part in this event in the standing category, had a magnificent day.

Sixth in qualifying, he then won his semi-final before finishing second in the grand final, his first World Cup podium. Victory went to Germany’s Sebastian Marburger , with Japan’s Yoshihiro Nitta third.

In the women’s competition, Norway’s overwhelming favourite Vilde Nilsen dominated the proceedings. Winner of the qualifying round, she went on to win her semi-final and then the final, well ahead of Ukraine’s Oleksandra Kononova and China’s Zhao Zhiqing.

For her first World Cup, Anaïs Delavier was thirteenth in the qualifying round ahead of Beaufort native Chloé Pinto, who was fourteenth. Not good enough for the finals.
Jake Adicoff and Carina Edlinger the strongest in visually impaired people
In the visually impaired category, Maxime Gayet (guided by Alexis Bernard) took sixteenth place in the qualifiers for his World Cup debut.

Final victory went to American Jake Adicoff (guided by Peter Wolter) ahead of Norway’s Thomas Oxaal (guided by Geir Lervik) and Sweden’s Zebastian Modin (guided by Emil Joensson Haag).

The women’s victory went to Austria’s Carina Edlinger (guided by Michael Seyss-Inquart) ahead of Germany’s Leonie Maria Walter (guided by Christian Krasman) and China’s Wang Yue (guided by Liu Hang).
China and Brazil ahead in the seated category, a first for Alexis Sanchez
In the women ‘s final, China’s Zhai Yuxin won ahead of Germany’s Anja Wicker and American Kendall Gretsch. Brazilian Cristian Ribera Westemaier won the men’s final, just ahead of China’s Liu Mengtao andItaly’s Giuseppe Romele.

On his first World Cup start, France’s Alexis Sanchez finished twenty-fifth in the qualifying round, failing to make the cut to reach the semi-finals.
