Para cross-country skiing: Maxime Gayet and his guide Alexis Bernard, thirteenth
This Sunday, the para-cross-country skiing world cup in Val di Fiemme (Italy) continued and ended with the classic 10km individual races. In the visually impaired category, Maxime Gayet (guided by Alexis Bernard) came thirteenth.

Victory went to American Jake Adicoff (guided by Peter Wolter) more than a minute ahead of China’s Yu Shuang (guided by Shang Jincai) and Sweden’s Zebastian Modin (guided by Emil Joensson Haag).

A few minutes earlier, the Czech Republic’s Simona Bubenickova (guided by David Srutek) had won the women’s competition by a wide margin over Germany’s Leonie Maria Walter (guided by Christian Krasman) and China’s Wang Yue (guided by Liu Hang).

Anaïs Delavier tenth in the standing category
In the standing category, Anaïs Delavier was the only French entrant, with Chloé Pinto also rested. More than 11 minutes from victory, she took tenth and last place in the race.

Victory went to Norway’s Vilde Nilsen, who dominated ahead of Ukraine’s Oleksandra Kononova and Bohdana Konashuk.

The men’s race went to Poland’s Witold Skupien, who won the 10km race 43.8 seconds ahead of Japan’s Taiki Kawayoke and 50.3 seconds ahead of Germany’s Sebastian Marburger.

Karl Tabouret, who finished second in the classic sprint on Saturday, has been rested ahead of the Para Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka (Slovenia) on Thursday.

On the sitting side, Frenchman Alexis Sanchez was also competing in his first World Cup distance. After three good first laps, he did one loop too many and finished thirty-second.

It was China’s Mao Zhongwu who came out on top, 2.4 seconds ahead of Brazil’s Cristian Ribera Westemaier. Giuseppe Romele, on home soil, completed the podium at 43 sec 2.

In the women’s race, it was American favourite Kendall Gretsch who took victory. In the lead at every intermediate stage, the American won by a margin of 47.8 seconds over Brazil’s Aline Dos Santos Rocha and more than a minute over China’s Wang Shiyu.
