Para cross-country skiing : a fine top 3 for Anthony Chalençon
The first stage of the winter Para-cross World Cup in Vuokatti (Finland) continued on Friday. After a classic sprint and an individual skate, there was a mass-start in the same style at mid-morning. And among the visually impaired, a Frenchman stood out.

Anthony Chalençon, who had already come a very creditable fifth the day before, put in a solid performance to claim a place on today’s podium. Guided by Florian Michelon, the 34-year-old cross-country skier shone in second place behind the untouchable Swede Zebastian Modin, who won by a margin of nearly a minute and thirty seconds. Just behind the Frenchman, Finland’s Inkki Inola finished third, less than two seconds behind.

A second Blue was also in contention in this final race of the week. Benjamin Daviet was on the sprint box in the classic sprint on Wednesday, but this time he had to settle for a top 15 finish, as he did in the race on Thursday. Fifteenth on the line, the Haut-Savoyard finished more than 3 min 30 behind Chenyang Wang, the day’s winner.
