Para nordic skiing: off to Val di Fiemme for the World Cup
This week, the Nordic para-ski world cup will be taking place in Val di Fiemme (Italy). A few weeks after the inaugural event in Vuokatti (Finland), competitions are scheduled on the site of the next Paralympic Games.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the para biathlon sprints and pursuit sprintswill be on the programme, while the para cross-country skiing classic sprints and classic individuals will be contested on Saturday and Sunday.

For this week in the Alps , France has selected several elements. Firstly, Chloé Pinto, Benjamin Daviet and Karl Tabouret will compete in the para biathlon.
The aim for Chloé [Pinto] will be to perform well and show a good level to be selected for the World Championships,” their coach Vincent Duchêne tells Nordic Magazine. For Karl [Tabouret] and Benjamin [Daviet], these will be competitions to put into practice everything we worked on during the preparation camp [held in Peisey, editor’s note] in order to build their confidence before the World Championships.
Anthony Chalençon makes a stand
Then, for the para cross-country skiing events, Chloé Pinto and Karl Tabouret will be joined by Anaïs Delavier, Maxime Gayet (guided by Alexis Bernard) and Alexis Sanchez. The latter three will be discovering the World Cup on this occasion.
“Anaïs Delavier is coming to this stage to test herself in the World Cup classic, where she feels more comfortable than in skating. Maxime Gayet and his guide Alexis Bernard will also be here to show what they’ve got and see what it says in the World Cup. The same goes for Alexis Sanchez who, I hope, will show some great things with a view to the next competitions”, analyses Vincent Duchêne.

Anthony Chalençon (guided by Florian Michelon) will be absent from this round of the World Cup. ” He’s in top form, but is staying in France with his family to concentrate fully on the world championships,” says his coach.
