Rollerski: after the World Cup, Eliott Maury becomes French U16 champion
After the classic mass-starts at the U15 National Summer Challenge in Autrans (Isère), it was the U16s who were on deck mid-morning on Sunday for the 2025 French Rollerski Championships.
In the 6.6km men’s race, it was Gérômois Eliott Maury who set the pace for the leading group for a long time. Having competed in the Rollerski World Cup this summer, he was the boss before taking off in the final.
The Vosges cross-country skier, who defends the colours of the Méribel club (Savoie), became French U16 champion in the classic mass-start , 12.8 seconds ahead of Prémanonier Elio Faivre and 15.1 seconds ahead of Montblanc’s Anselme Bosson.
“It’s incredible! I had a great season last year and now I’m doing it again. I couldn’t have wished for anything better,” he told Nordic Magazine afterwards. I wanted to manage and try to get into the slipstream and then accelerate in the final.
The day’s top 10 was completed by Maé Bonnet, Antoine Vachette, Martin Rousset Vachon, Nino Rimailho, Elias Lopes, Marius Tinguely and Achille Henocq.
