Rollerski: David Thorvik triumphs thanks to a strategic final climb
In Norway, the summit of Grefsenkollen was the setting this weekend for the first edition of a run/ski-wheel duathlon. David Thorvik, representing Kjelsås IL and a member of Team Elon Oslofjord, won the event, ahead of Sondre Ramse and Iver Wang Johansen.
On the final climb, the future winner accelerated. He crossed the finish line seven seconds ahead of Ramse, who was just one second ahead of Johansen.
This year, the Grefsenkollen Opp introduced this new format to its programme: an uphill foot race followed by a ski-wheel race. The times achieved in the first event determined the starting order for the second. David Thorvik, who came fourth in the run, capitalised on his position to take the overall victory.
Ragnhild Gloeersen Haga wins the women’s race
Andreas Nygaard, who was initially expected to take part in a confrontation, did not take the start of the rollerski race due to an arm injury.

World champion Ragnhild Gloeersen Haga, the first woman, finished 14th overall.
The Grefsenkollen Opp duathlon was organised with 25 invited participants. The positive feedback from the runners and the interest shown by national coach Eirik Myhr Nossum point to a second edition.
