Rollerski : “I gave it my all every lap”, reveals Jules Chappaz
Jules Chappaz won the title of French wheel-ski champion this weekend in Autrans (Isère). In difficult conditions, the 26-year-old cross-country skier pulled out all the stops.
“It was a good day’s work,” the cross-country skier told Nordic Magazineon arrival. ” It’s not an easy feeling because you’ve just come back from three weeks at altitude in Font-Romeu. It was difficult, there was no recovery time. I gave it my all every lap, right from the start, trying to take the lead and accelerate little by little, but it was still hard. I’m happy to see that it responded quite well compared to the others.
In the rain atAutrans (Isère), we had to deal with a circuit that was sometimes slippery. “We had to be careful with the rain and the white lines. If I managed it well, it was fine,” he added.
Jules Chappaz is now entering the final phase of his preparation before the winter. “I’m feeling good. October is a pivotal moment in the season. Last year, I burnt out a bit at that point, so the advice now is to take it easy. The aim is to start like I finished last season, with a focus on the Games”, concludes the cross-country skier from La Clusaz (Haute-Savoie).
