18:05. On Thursday, the 2026 World Ski Jumping Championships kick ed off in Oberstdorf (Germany) with the qualifying round. Bringing together fifty-three jumpers, it eliminated thirteen before the competition scheduled to start on Friday afternoon.
For France, only one made the cut: Valentin Foubert from Courchevel (199 metres), twentieth. Jules Chervet (154.5 metres), forty-fourth, and Louis Obersteiner (145.5 metres), forty-fifth, were eliminated.
Unsurprisingly, it was Slovenian world record-holder Domen Prevc (228.5 metres) who won the qualifier, comfortably ahead of Austrians Stephan Embacher (227 metres) and Jan Hoerl (215.5 metres).
