This Sunday morning, as the 2024/2025 ski jumping world cup drew to a close, there was a moment of history on the giant ski jump in Planica (Slovenia). On home soil, in front of his home crowd, Domen Prevc soared to 254.5 metres, beating the world record held for the last eight years by Stefan Kraft at 253.5 metres.
Although this jump didn’t allow him to win because of the technical notes, it took the Slovenian, winner of the small globe in ski flying, into a new dimension. Domen Prevc finished second on the day, beaten only by his compatriot Anze Lanisek (247.5 and 241.5 metres).

Andreas Wellinger (twice 236.5 metres) rounded off the podium, while Courchevel’s Valentin Foubert (200.5 and 187 metres) finished his winter in twenty-seventh place.
